Seeds

In 2018 I attended the Anthropocene Campus held at Deakin University, Melbourne. After a week of talks, field visits, and seminars, we were given a prompt to consider a contribution to an Anthropogenic Table of Elements, to stand alongside or in contradistinction to the Mendeleev’s, periodic table of chemical elements. My essay offers seeds as an element of the anthropocene but also uses seeds to challenge the concept of elementality.
